Scratching The Surface: As I translate the struggles of women aging in today’s society I continue to return to surface as an issue. Reading the surface of any given object, opinions are shaped by our perceptions.
The series corresponds to my personal experiences as an aging woman. That which is perceived on my surface informs your opinion regarding our relationship to one another. I request you look beneath the surface for understanding. The medium is Gouache, pastel, oil pastel on paper. The art is mounted on a warm white mat, framed in contemporary wood style and presented under glass.
