The Spirit Series: It happened in Mesa Verde, Colorado, the ancient home of the Anasazi. I was chosen by a spirit. A cool breeze blew across the back of my neck and my hair stood on end. My body was turned by an unseen presence and my art mind, body and soul were changed forever. I am of English ancestry with no claim to any Native American blood, and yet I was given this gift of belonging. My art changed and I changed. I had never been of a spirit nature but from that moment on I was a different soul.
